RE:FIT Programme
RE:FIT is an award winning public programme set up by the Greater London Authority which helps public sector organisations to achieve substantial cost savings, reduce energy use and cut CO
2 emissions in public sector buildings.
London is the first of the world’s leading cities to launch such a programme.
Through RE:FIT, public sector organisations appoint an Energy Service Company (ESCo) from an established framework of 13 suppliers to install energy conservation measures in their buildings. The ESCo guarantees the level of annual energy and cost savings over an agreed payback period, thus offering a secure financial return. This also means that any associated risks are carried by the ESCo, rather than the public sector organisation.
With funding from the ELENA Programme, the GLA’s Programme Delivery Unit is established to provide a free support service to London public sector clients throughout the process, helping them to identify and benchmark suitable buildings to be retrofitted, write project briefs, run mini-competitions and implement energy conservation measures in their buildings.
